Listen every Sunday morning where you'll be provided with a whole lot of folk music, a little bit of bluegrass and the hint of the blues.

Tune in on Sunday, December 6 when my pal Robin Adams, who has a great WSPN show on Wednesday mornings, joins me for a alt/indie song duel. He'll bring in a few of his most offbeat indie songs and I'll counter him with a few artists he might never have heard.....We plan on doing it again on Wednesday morning (8AM to 10AM) 12/9 for his listeners......I'm eager to hear what he's gonna come up with! Knowing Robin - this is going to be fun!

Christmas music!
I'm always excited for new music at Christmas. Even though those old standards are sure to bring back childhood memories, I long to see what my favorite folkie or country artists will do each holiday. And it's not the traditional carols I long to hear, it's sometimes original songs that bring a new and different perspective to the Christmas season. I LOVE the quirky songs just as much as some of the more traditional types.
I vow never to play a Christmas tune until the Sunday AFTER Thanksgiving....but this year I may make an exception. Jerry Douglas has just come out with a wonderful Christmas cd entitled, Jerry Christmas! He shines!! Jerry will be appearing at The Egg with John Oates and Maura O'Connell on December 11th!! I can't wait to share it with my listeners and will begin doing that this Sunday - yes, the Sunday BEFORE Thanksgiving!! It's only for Jerry that I do this!!

I took last Sunday off and had a student take over the controls for me. He did a great job and offered up an eclectic blend of folk/indie music! Sometimes change is good.
I've been listening to a new cd which was given to me by a good friend as a birthday gift. It's been out for 10 years, so is not new....but is still wonderful nonetheless. If you like a great mandolin sound, check out the Bluegrass Mandolin Extravaganza!
ALSO, be sure and check out the show on Sunday the 15th when I'll have Greg Klyma joining me to plug his upcoming Caffe Lena appearance. Greg will be coming from the NERFA conference so I'm eager to talk with him about his experiences there. Each year I put the NERFA conference on my calendar with hopes that I'll be able to attend....and every year something else comes along $$$$....if only there was always enough money for all of the music we want to hear!!
Read today that James Taylor is going to tour with Carole King....check out their websites for a schedule!!
